BI nabs 6 illegal aliens in different Mindanao cities
THE BUREAU of Immigration (BI) recently arrested six foreigners in different parts of Mindanao for overstaying and being undocumented. In a press statement, Commissioner Jaime H. Morente said the Davao City-based BI-Mindanao intelligence task group (MITG) arrested the six aliens following complaints of their activities. “The apprehension of these illegal aliens stemmed from complaints we received regarding the activities of these undesirable foreigners in various places in the south,” Mr. Morente was quoted as saying. BI operatives arrested on May 15 two Indonesians in General Santos City. They were identified as Jimbirs Da Lema and Supian Undingan, who were allegedly illegally staying in the country and were previously arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Sarangani-Regional Field Unit for selling fake local cigarettes. On May 16, the BI arrested in Tagum City, Davao del Sur Warnakula Weerasuriya Jayathilaka, also known as Anton Rowel, a Sri Lankan national allegedly overstaying in the country, and Korean national Kim Yoonsig for being undocumented and included in the bureau’s blacklist. Arrested on May 17 in a resort in Davao City is overstaying American Branden Fitzgeral Dandridge. Chinese Tony Co, also known as Alex Ubalde, who is allegedly involved in gainful activity and admitted to overstaying in the country for eight years, was nabbed on May 20 in Cagayan de Oro City.
