Radio technician offering services online nabbed for extortion
A TECHNICIAN, who advertises his services online, and his wife were nabbed for extortion by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) through an entrapment operation last Sept. 10. The suspects are spouses Joel S.J. Olalo and Noemi R. Olalo. In a statement, the NBI said the complainants sought the help of Mr. Olalo, through mybenta.ph, for the diagnostic testing of communication equipment such as two-way radio repeater, handled radios and units of charger battery. Mr. Olalo took the equipment for testing in his office for P3,500. The complainants, however, decided not to push through with the repair, but Mr. Olalo refused to return the equipment without a payment of P280,000. The two have been presented to the Office of the Prosecutor in Muntinlupa City for inquest proceedings. — Vann Marlo M. Villegas
