A NATIONWIDE Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) is set on Sept. 27, Wednesday, in place of the cancelled activity last Sept. 21, Chief of Public Affairs Office and Spokesperson Romina B. Marasigan announced yesterday.

“It is set to be done on Sept. 27, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The pilot area would still be in Bacoor City for the nationwide drill. And there are also other communities which will be doing the drill,” Mr. Marasigan said in a press briefing in Malacañang.

The original schedule was postponed following the proclamation of Sept. 21 as National Day of Protest by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) conducts a regular NSED as part of the program to strengthen disaster preparedness at the community level and to evaluate the government’s response capability.
