Kaida Contemporary presents Arden Mopera’s recent works in Home Life on Nov. 6, 6 p.m. Home Life is his ninth solo exhibition. Kaida Contemporary is located at 45 Scout Madriñan St., South Triangle, Quezon City.
Chinese artist Yang Ding Xian’s first exhibition in the Philippines, East Wind Rhapsody, is on view until Nov. 10 at the Mezzanine level of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
The sixth solo exhibition of Anthony Panugao and his first with Kulay-Diwa Gallery, Whimsy, Wind and Wisdom will feature more that 10 of his recent works and a mural measuring 7×11 feet. The exhibit runs until Nov. 12.
ArtInformal presents Bookworks by Ringo Bunoan until Nov. 12 at the Main Gallery. In this exhibit, she explores the obvious but undetected “materiality” of books. Also on view at the same time will be Mark Valenzuela’s exhibit Violently at The Big Room and The Inner Room of the gallery. The gallery is located at 277 Connecticut St., Mandaluyong City.
Organized in cooperation with Art Cube, the BenCab Museum in Baguio presents DisneyTopia by Guerrero Z. Habulan, an exhibit that interrogates the acceptance of the “cultural properties” of the West. Museum visitors can also view Old Master Prints at the Print Gallery, featuring 16th to 18th century etchings and engravings by Rembrandt, Goya, Dürer, et al. Both exhibitions are on view until Dec. 4.
Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery presents Diviserye, an exhibit on Jobert Cruz’s visual narration of how he perceive the things he encountered every day as he was growing up in Divisoria.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines presents Linya by Doctor Karayom at Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2F Hallway Gallery) until Nov. 13. Meanwhile, Mars Ravelo Reinterpreted, an exhibit of works by 13 visual artists curated by Dean Zuberi Africa, is on view at the Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery) and Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3F Hallway Gallery) of the CCP. Exhibit runs until Nov. 13.
UP Vargas Museum presents A Matter of Contemplation and Discontent, a selection of influential artists from Romania, consisting of unique pieces of art created between the 1980s and the 1990s in various media — from drawing to photography and video. The exhibition features artists Alexandru Antik, Sándor Bartha, Geta Brătescu, Teodor Graur, Ion Grigorescu, Peter Jacobi, Dan Mihaltianu, Dan Perjovschi, Lia Perjovschi, Mircea Stănescu, Sorin Vreme and curator Anca Verona Mihuleţ. It runs until Nov. 19 at 1F Galleries, UP Vargas Museum.
The Yuchengco Museum, in partnership with Samsung Culture Connect and Castrillo Legacy Art Studio presents Eduardo Castrillo @ 50: Moving the Legacy Forward until Nov. 24. Meanwhile, Mexican Modernity: 20th Century Paintings from the Zapanta Mexican Art Collection is on view until Nov. 24. at the Yuchengco Museum, RCBC Plaza, in Makati City.
Studio 1616 artists Lendl Arvin, Kiko Urquiola, and Gian Miroe Surban come together in a painting exhibition titled Immerse, at Secret Fresh Gallery in Ronac Art Center, San Juan, Greenhills.
Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery has three ongoing exhibits until Nov. 16: Patria Regalario and Mek Yambao’s Am, Jood Clarino’s Caprice, and Kelli Maeshiro’s I Don’t Know Where To Go, So I’m Here.
Raymundo “Ray” Albano’s career is the subject of A Time to Unlearn, at the Sphere section of the Metropolitan Museum of the Philippines’ permanent exhibit Philippine Contemporary Art: To Scale the Past and the Possible. The Met is located at the Bangko Sentral Compound, Roxas Blvd., Malate, Manila.
PERFORMANCES
As part of the ongoing Guitar Night Series, Mandolin Delights, featuring Lester Demetillo and Armando Derecho on mandolin, and Aljero Jimenex on guitar will perform music from the baroque classical, romantic, as well as Filipino, Brazilian, and American bluegrass music, on Nov. 6, 6:30 p.m., at the lobby in the Ayala Museum in Makati. Italian Great Classics: A Homage to the Philippines, a symphonic concert featuring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of guest conductor Ruggero Barbieri, with Fermo Roscigno on piano, will be held on Nov. 5, 8 p.m., at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. As soloist in the second part of the program, Mr. Roscigno will perform Muzio Clementi’s Concerto in C Major for Piano and Orchestra (Cadenzas by Fermo Roscigno). Other peices to be performed that night are Cherubini’s Medea Overture, Rossini’s La Gazza Ladra Overture, Redentor Romero’s Philippine Portraits, and Clementi’s Minuetto Pastorale. Museo Pambata will be having a Shadowplay performance with the students of Philippine High School for the Arts on Nov. 5, 10 a.m., and there will be a Museo Pambata Guides’ Corner, where guests can put candles on customized holders, on Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m.

The Manila Symphony Orchestra Music Academy presents the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra under the baton of Jeffrey R.
