BUDGET CARRIER Cebu Pacific said terminal fees are now included in the cost of tickets for all domestic flights out of airports managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
In a statement, Cebu Pacific said the integration of the domestic passenger service charge (DPSC) in the airline’s booking systems took effect on Sept. 15. This includes tickets purchased from Cebu Pacific from ticket offices, Web site and mobile app.
“While the total cost paid by passengers who booked flights on Cebu Pacific became slightly higher due to the addition of the terminal fee, this system innovation is a convenience to travelers. They no longer have to line up at the counters to pay for the domestic terminal fee,” Cebu Pacific Vice-President for Corporate Affairs Paterno S. Mantaring, Jr. was quoted as saying.
The CAAP manages all domestic terminals in the country, except for the main gateway Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the Clark International Airport and the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport in Caticlan (Boracay).
CAAP terminal fees range from P50 at Sanga-Sanga/Tawi-Tawi airport to P200 at Puerto Princesa International Airport, Cagayan de Oro’s Laguindingan Airport and Davao’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport.
The CAAP issued Memorandum Circular 02-17 on the integration of the DPSC into Cebu Pacific fares last Sept. 1. Under the circular, Cebu Pacific will collect the terminal fees and remit these to the CAAP.
Domestic terminal fees for Manila and Cebu airports have been incorporated in airline tickets since 2013.
