Seven Sundays

THE FAMILY comedy-drama follows Manuel who finds out that he is dying of cancer. He then makes an effort to reunite his grown-up children. The Bonifacio siblings, Alan, Bryan, Dex, and Cha commit seven Sundays to bond as a family. Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, it stars Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, Enrique Gil, Ronaldo Valdez, and Christine Reyes.

The Changeover

LAURA’S LITTLE BROTHER Jacko gets a noxious stamp from a frail old man. The old man grows young while Jacko gets ill. When the doctors advise Laura that she is the fit donor for her little brother’s bone marrow transplant, she is reminded of an older boy who is capable of helping Jacko. The film is based on Margaret Mahy’s Carnegie Medal-winning YA fantasy of the same title. Directed by Miranda Harcourt and Stuart McKenzie, it stars Nicholas Galitzine, Melanie Lynskey, Lucy Lawless, Kate Harcourt, and Timothy Spall.

Cold Moon

THE LARKIN family suffers a terrible tragedy. A mysterious creature from the river takes human form and rises to seek revenge. Directed by Griff Furst, it stars Candy Clark, Frank Whaley, and Josh Stewart. Dennis Harvey of Variety writes, “Ultimately at least as much a portrait of noir psychopathy a la The Killer Inside Me as it is a supernatural thriller, Cold Moon is goofy, but juicy.”

Geostorm

THE NETWORK of satellites designed to control global climate and ensure safety begins to malfunction. Satellite designer Jake takes action to uncover the threat. He must race against time to prevent a worldwide geostorm from wiping out everything and everyone. Fil-Am Dean Devlin makes his directorial debut in this sci-fi thriller. It stars Gerard Butler, Abbie Cornish, Alexandra Maria Lara, Jim Sturgess, Daniel Wu, and Eugenio Derbez. According to interaksyon.com, Devlin revealed that the story was inspired when his then six-year-old daughter asked him to explain climate change.

AN OFW mother travels home to deal with her son after his sex video goes viral. Directed by Neal Tan, it stars Aiko Melendez, Polo Ravales, Nathalie Hart, Rico Barrera, James Robert, Sarah Pagcaliwagan Brakensiek, and Vangie Labalan.

The Man with the Iron Heart

THE FRENCH biographical war thriller focuses on the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the leader of Czechoslovakia during World War II. He was assassinated by two men of the Czechoslovak Resistance in Prague. Directed by Cédric Jimenez, it stars Jason Clarke, Rosamund Pike, Jack O’ Connel, and Mia Wasikowska.
