Asian athletic brand opens first store in Phl
CATERING TO the adventurer at heart, outdoor activity brand Lowe Alpine Silvermark recently opened its first store in the country with an eye on providing a suitable option for those on the lookout for quality in their gear and apparel at affordable prices.
A collaboration between Lowe Alpine and Hong Kong-based apparel brand Giordano, the people behind the Silvermark store said such a partnership has resulted in products that successfully mesh contemporary style and functionality.
“Lowe Alpine Silvermark adapts a modern, street-level approach that is evident in the way we design our outdoor gear. This enables us to balance functionality and durability with urban sensibility and style,” said Melvin Lim, Lowe Alpine Silvermark’s vice-president for Business Development, during the store’s official launch last week.
Located at the third floor of the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, the store features the brand’s full range of athleisure products including jackets, vests, T-shirts and pants.
It also sells Lowe Alpine’s world-renowned collection of outdoor bags and backpacks.
“The selection in our store is extensive for people looking for better performance from their gear and apparel when in the outdoors. The products are geared toward the Philippine weather so you can see high-performance garments in our outdoor wear that keep the skin cool and dry,” said Mr. Lim in an interview with BusinessWorld at the sidelines of the store launch.
“The bags, of course, are world-class. Their technical and functional aspects are well-thought out which consumers, especially those in the know, would appreciate and like. It has a lot of history — 50 years in fact since the first bag was made by its founder Greg Lowe — and we are happy to bring it here in the country,” he added.
Before coming into the Philippines, Lowe Alpine Silvermark successfully established itself in other parts of the region, namely, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Taiwan, and Japan, becoming one of the popular outdoor adventure brands in Asia.
Mr. Lim said Silvermark’s now being in the country should only complement the brand’s growth, seeing how the market is ready for the products that they offer.
“Right now a lot of Filipinos are into the active lifestyle and/or love to travel as compared to before. With Lowe Alpine Silvermark, what we are offering are products that can enhance their experience in the adventures they go to, be it in the clothes they wear or bags they use,“ the Silvermark official said.
Mr. Lim went on to say that the price range for their products start from P1,000 for T-shirts to P22,000 for the more technical backpacks — still affordable as compared to other outdoor adventure brands, he highlighted.
They also offer a lifetime warranty for their products so customers can be assured that they are taken care of after the sale.
Lowe Alpine Silvermark products are endorsed by a number of “adventurers,” namely, football legend Terry Sheringham, street workout champion and motivational guru Ahmed Kerigo, travel writer and explorer Riki Ueda, photographer and urban explorer Thomas Sandfield, mountain bike champion Brian Cook, and stylist and lifestyle connoisseur Spencer So.
