ABS-CBN Corp. said it expects to reduce production costs by 10%-15% when it starts using its soundstages in Bulacan by the end of next year.

“We’re testing the processes for soundstage, but definitely before the end of second half next year, our two soundstages will be operational,” ABS-CBN CFO Aldrin M. Cerrado recently told reporters.

The Lopez-led media giant is building two soundstages in San Jose del Monte, which will be used for the production of its films and television shows. Soundstages are sound-proof buildings that are designed for shooting TV shows and films.

“When we tested it, we said 10-15%, but we haven’t tested on a soundstage, so these are all table computations. Definitely there will be savings,” Mr. Cerrado said.

He said ABS-CBN will start testing the soundstages by the first quarter of 2018. The company will also rent a warehouse and build another one to do “soundstage-like” production, said Mr. Cerrado.
