SURVIVING World War II veterans are given a tribute by the Tacloban City government on Oct. 19 as part of the country’s 75th Liberation Anniversary celebration. “I am very much thankful that each year we are given recognition and honor. It only shows that we are not forgotten,” said 92-year old Ramon Ocampo Modina, one of the 10 veterans who was honored. Ambassador Steven James Robinson of Australia, one of the allied nations during the war, attended the event.
