AFTER LAUNCHING its 24-hour English-language news channel last year and a sports channel in early 2019, local pay TV provider Cignal TV is introducing another channel under its One branding, One PH, a 24-hour Filipino-language news channel.

“One PH furthers our commitment to deliver reliable news and public affairs programs that matter most to Filipinos,” Sienna G. Olaso, Cignal TV vice-president for channel management, said in a release.

Cignal TV launched One News in May 2018 with programs including Face the Chiefs and BusinessWorld Live and launched One Sports in January 2019 featuring programs such as WWE Smackdown and Philippine Superliga.

“One PH will be home to news programs that inform and educate, talk shows that inspire and entertain, and public service programs that will provide our fellow Filipinos a venue where they can seek help for their problems,” Ms. Olaso explained.

The channel has partnered with the Star Group (Pilipino Star Ngayon, The Freeman) and Radyo 5 92.3 NewsFM and News5 to create content for the channel.

One PH’s programming block is headlined by news and commentary programs like One Balita, a noontime daily news program hosted by Raffy Tulfo and Jamie Herrell, and Sa Totoo Lang, a primetime news program hosted by Sheryl Cosim and Jove Francisco.

The day’s top headlines will be talked about in Wag Po, a show featuring Ed Lingao, Patrick Paez, Lourd de Veyra, Melvyn Calderon and 2018 Pulitzer Prize Winner for International Reporting, Manuel Mogato.

The channel also brings over Wanted sa Radyo, a public service program for complaints hosted by Mr. Tulfo. The program is a mainstay at Radyo 5 92.3 NewsFM.

A program meant to teach audience members on how to manage their finances is hosted Chinkee Tan and Christine Bersola-Babao called Mag-Badyet Tayo while millennial mothers Jennica Garcia and Pat Fernandez will give out advice and parenting tips in Inay Ko Po!

For people with questions about legal procedures, the channel has a program called Usapang Kapa-TED featuring former Supreme Court Public Information Chief, Theodore “Ted” Te.

Take it Per Minute, an entertainment and gossip show hosted by Cristy Fermin, Lolit Solis, and Jeffrey “Mr. Fu” Espiritu, will also be shown on the channel.

Finally, for sports and motoring enthusiasts, the channel offers Turbo Time hosted by Mike Potenciano and Lindy Pellicer, Isport Lang hosted by Zaldy Perez, and Ride Radio hosted by Jay Taruc.

One PH is seen on Cignal channel 6.
