THE BUREAU of Immigration has extended its policy to allow foreign nationals with approved immigrant and non-immigrant visas to depart from the country whose alien certificate of registration identity card (ACR I-Card) are still pending.

In a news release on Tuesday, Immigration Commissioner Jaime H. Morente said the policy is extended until Dec. 31.

“In lieu of the ACR I-Card, the said departing aliens need only to present official receipts of the ACR I-Card waiver application fee and reentry permit or special return certificate,” Mr. Morente said.

Immigration Deputy Commissioner J. Tobias M. Javier, whose office processes ACR I-Card waiver applications, recommended the policy extension for the convenience of foreigners who wish to leave the country amid the pandemic. — Bianca Angelica D. Añago
