If you breathe between 20,000 to 30,000 times each day, shouldn’t you be concerned with breathing correctly and living more healthily?

While Buteyko breathing is a clinically proven technique that delivers immediate and sustained relief from asthma, allergies, and anxiety, among others.

The only complementary treatment endorsed by the British Medical Association for asthma and accepted in Australia, the United States, Canada, and other countries, the method was developed by Russian respiratory scientist, Dr. Konstantin Pavolvich Buteyko, who formulated exercises to restore and retrain breathing to a healthy pattern.

Buteyko breathing is taught in the country by senior practitioner Jac Vidgen, who introduced the method in Asia two decades ago. He will conduct free introductory seminars on April 19, 7-9 p.m., and April 22, 4-6 p.m., at Health Is In (416-0123), 59 West Ave. corner Cavite St., Quezon City; on April 23, 4-6 p.m. at PhilDHRRA Partnership Center (535-6368), 59 C. Salvador St., Loyola Heights, Quezon City; April 20, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at In Touch Community Services (893-1893) at the Holy Trinity Church compound, 48-A McKinley Road, Forbes Park, Makati.

The two-hour workshops are meant for both adults and children (over four years old). Mr. Vidgen is also available for private workshops, consultations and online coaching.
