Wilcon Depot opens new branch in Cagayan de Oro
Started as a small hardware shop in 1977, Wilcon Depot has now become the leading home improvement and construction supply retailer in the country. Within 40 years of its operations, Wilcon continues to live up to its customers’ expectations and meet the ever-changing needs of the market. It is continuously expanding and building stores in key cities nationwide to cater the needs of more Filipinos.
One of its recently launched branch is located in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. It is the first depot branch in Northern Mindanao Region and third in the Mindanao, which has a total sales area of over 12,000 square meters.
Wilcon Depot Cagayan de Oro accommodates extensive and quality home-building materials ranging from tiles, sanitarywares, appliances, plumbing, tools, hardware and DIY (do-it-yourself) items such as electrical, building materials, automotive, doors and mouldings, outdoor living, paints and sundries.
Wilcon continuously gives assurance to their clients that the brands they carry are those with superior quality. They present various product showrooms and display Wilcon’s exclusive brands like Grohe and Kohler Sanitarywares, Franke Kitchen Systems, Pozzi Bathroom Solutions, Koller Bathtubs and Shower Accessories, Direct Hardware; while Rocersa and Grespania Tiles are featured in their Tile Studio. Heim home interior and Heritage home furniture are exhibited at the Living, Kitchen, and Bath (LKB) showroom. And adding to their extensive product lineup is the newly launched Alphalux lighting solutions.
Like other Wilcon depot stores, Wilcon Cagayan de Oro offers value-added services like free membership to Wilcon Loyalty Card program and Design Hub – a service that allows customers to create their own design through computer software with cost estimates and product lists made available inside the store. Wilcon also offers ample parking spaces, tile-cutting services, delivery services, interior design consultation, recreational corner for kids, product installations, and air-conditioned shops, all for the convenience of its shoppers.
Cagayan de Oro, as the regional economic center of Northern Mindanao, boasts itself in having a healthy retail and residential market. Its accessibility for business growth proves that it is truly one of the most progressive and competitive cities in the Philippines. Wilcon believes that the company’s entry in Cagayan de Oro will receive a positive feedback in which Wilcon can actively support the local economy.
Aside from the newly opened store, Wilcon is set to open five more stores located at Iloilo, Cabanatuan, Tacloban, Silang in Cavite and Zamboanga this year. By 2022, the company aims to have 65 branches spread across the country.
“Wilcon is pushing to open more stores in the last quarter of the year. As the new stores continue to gain traction, and existing stores perform to expected results, hopefully the country’s growth momentum could continue until 2018,” Wilcon Chief Financial Officer Mark Andrew Y. Belo was quoted as saying in a statement.
For the second quarter of 2017, better sales in Wilcon’s existing and new stores helped the company to earn a net income of P372 million, 28% higher than the P291 million it posted in the same period a year ago.
