LAND BANK of the Philippines (LANDBANK) said it launched fuel subsidies, commuter support, and concessional financing to provide relief for segments of society heavily affected by the energy crisis.

“LANDBANK remains committed to delivering responsive and inclusive financial solutions that directly benefit transport operators, commuters, and food producers. Through close coordination with government partners, we ensure that assistance reaches those who need it, when they need it most,” LANDBANK President and Chief Executive Officer Lynette V. Ortiz said in a statement on Tuesday.

By digitally processing the P10-per-liter Fuel Subsidy Program, the bank will assist the departments of Energy, Transportation, Information and Communications Technology, and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in rolling out the program.

Launched on April 14 and running until July 2026, the bank’s digital infrastructure facilitates the automatic distribution of aid to targeted beneficiaries like qualified public utility jeepney and UV Express drivers at participating gasoline stations in Metro Manila, covering up to 150 liters or P1,500 per unit per week.

LANDBANK also reintroduced the MRT-3 (Metro Retail Transit Line 3) Balik Pasahe with LANDBANK promotion, which runs between April 15 and July 31.

MRT-3 passengers who pay using their LANDBANK contactless Visa Debit, Mastercard Prepaid, or Mastercard Credit cards at selected turnstiles will receive 100% cash back on their fares.

The bank also supports vulnerable segments of society with the Calamity Assistance and Rehabilitation Efforts for a Sustainable Recovery Plus Lending Program, the Agrisenso Plus Lending Program, and the Agri-Fishery Support through Capability Enhancement for Nationwide Development Program. — Aaron Michael C.
