THE Bureau of Customs (BoC) said it will adopt a three-year validity period for export registration in the Client Profile Registration System (CPRS), following a similar measure for importers.

Exporters need to be registered in the CPRS prior to engaging in export activities, the BoC said.

“This measure ensures that our exporter database remains accurate and reflective of active stakeholders,” BoC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno said in a statement on Monday.

“By adopting a defined validity period, we are improving data quality while maintaining a facilitative environment for legitimate exporters,” he added.

The memorandum, which was issued on April 24, directed all district collectors to ensure the proper implementation of the prescribed validity period, including the verification and updating of exporter registration records.

“The BoC continues to strengthen its systems and processes to support efficient trade facilitation while upholding accountability in export operations across the Philippines,” it said. — Justine Irish D. Tabile
