PANASONIC Manufacturing Philippines Corp. will transfer its production capacities for washing machines and electric fans to Laguna by April, on the back of an expected increase in demand for high grade models of such products.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange on Wednesday, the listed appliances manufacturer said it will transfer the production of washing machine and electric fan to its factory in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The products were previously made in its factory in Taytay, Rizal.
Panasonic has 21 hectares of industrial land at the Laguna Techno Park in Sta. Rosa. Aside from Taytay and Laguna, the company also has warehouses in Davao City, Pampanga, and Mandaue City.
Incorporated in 1963, Panasonic Philippines’ core interest is in the manufacture, importation, and distribution of electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical appliances, and other types of machines and products carrying the Panasonic brand.
Aside from washing machines and electric fans, the company’s products also include refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, cooling equipment, and other kitchen and home appliances.
Shares in Panasonic Philippines ended flat at P5.89 each at the Philippine Stock Exchange on Wednesday. — Arra B. Francia
