GEM October lineup

GEM starts the month with variety shows The Quest Season 6 and I’m Old Enough. The hosts of The Quest travel to different parts of the world where they must complete a certain challenge assigned to them as well as find the answers to mysteries. The Quest Season 6 premieres Oct. 6, airing every Friday at 10:10 p.m. In the show, children’s candid behavior is revealed when their parents have them run errands alone for the first time. I’m Old Enough premieres Oct. 26, and will air every Thursday at 10:10 p.m. Meanwhile, the high school drama My High School Business, premieres same week as it does in Japan. It premieres Oct. 21, and will air every Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Finally, follow the crime-solving adventures of genius detective Hajime Kindaichi in two murder mystery specials: The Files of Young Kindaichi – Lost in Kowloon, and The Files of Young Kindaichi – Jungle School Murder Mystery. The first airs on Oct. 22, 10:30 p.m., while the second airs Oct. 29, 10:30 p.m. GEM is available on SkyCable Channel 116 in Metro Manila and on Channel 222 in Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Baguio.

Warner TV on Tribe

WARNER TV, Turner’s general entertainment channel, launched on Astro’s regional OTT platform Tribe in the Philippines and Indonesia on Sept. 18. Warner TV is the home to an array of DC superhero shows such as DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Gotham, Supergirl, The Flash and iZOMBIE; comedy series such as The Big Bang Theory and Angie Tribeca, dramas such as Blindspot and The Last Ship; as well as blockbuster movies. Its newest show is Young Sheldon, a Big Bang Theory spin-off. “Tribe users are already fans of Korean content including Oh!K Channel from Turner, and we’re excited to add on Warner TV to the platform, thus expanding the variety on offer,” said Iskandar Samad, chief executive officer of Tribe Limited. Monthly subscription to Tribe is P69 in Philippines, and RP15,000 in Indonesia. New Tribe users can enjoy the first month free in both markets, and in addition to Korean drama, anime and Asian movies, they can enjoy Hollywood TV shows on linear and on-demand from Warner TV starting immediately.

New military drama

THE BOUNDARIES that lie between military discipline and human emotions are put to the test in the new drama series Valor, which premieres on Oct. 10, 10:40 p.m., on AXN, within 12 hours of US telecast. It will then air regularly on Tuesdays at the same time. Valor tells the story of two US Army helicopter pilots who lead an elite unit known on a top secret mission in Somalia which goes wrong. When they learn that one of their team is alive, the two pilots train for a daring rescue mission while trying to hide from their superiors the shocking truth about what really happened in their initial operation. New season of The Blacklist

REVENGE has become a family affair as the father-and-daughter tandem of criminal mastermind Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) and FBI profiler Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone) team up to rebuild his criminal empire in the new season of crime thriller The Blacklist. The Blacklist Season 5 premieres on Oct. 4, 10:40 p.m., and will every Wednesday on AXN. AXN is available on SkyCable Channel 49, Destiny Cable Channel 61, Cignal Channel 121, Dream Satellite TV Channel 20, G Sat Channel 51, and Cablelink Channel 38. Netflix Korean series

NETFLIX has announced that its first Korean original variety show, Busted!, has commenced production in Korea. Netflix has teamed up with Company SangSang, Hyuk-Jae Jang and Hyo-Jin Cho, one of Korea’s most successful variety show producers who produced top variety shows including Running Man and Family Outing, on the variety show which will launch globally on Netflix in 2018. Busted! is an unconventional variety game show in which every episode features stars solving a mystery. It is also the first season-based variety show by Company SangSang. The show will be filmed in various locations in Korea throughout the season.
