ART FAIR PHILIPPINES 2016 has an expanded and exciting lineup for its fourth edition as it recognizes its role as the world’s window to one of Asia’s fastest growing contemporary art scenes.

This year, the art fair features some of the best in Philippine contemporary art, with even more participants and a wider audience as it spreads out to another floor of The Link, the car park facility in Ayala Center, Makati City, in between Landmark Department Store and the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. It is ongoing until Feb. 21.

Founded in 2013, the fair has showcased the vibrant Filipino art scene in a transformed parking garage that for four days features selections from Metro Manila’s leading galleries. A wider roster of galleries from Southeast Asia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan will join them.

JOSEPHINE TURALBA’s Baboy Damo is on view at Galleria Duemila’s booth at the Art Fair Philippines.

Aside from the gallery shows, there will be lectures and tours of nearby museums and galleries. Among the lectures scheduled are: “Curating Corporate Collections” with speakers Barbara Staubli, Curator, JB Art Collection, Jaime Laya (BSP) on Feb. 19, 2-3:45 p.m., among several others.

To complement the gallery offerings, a curated section of solo presentations by critically and commercially successful artists have been installed throughout the two levels of the main fair. A third level of the fair is devoted to its educational component, ArtFairPh/Talks, housing a lecture theater for daily talks on art history, the art market, and current practices in contemporary art.
