IN his latest tirade on Wednesday, Oct. 4, President Rodrigo R. Duterte claimed that opposition Senator Antonio F. Trillanes has a mistress named Abad in the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) who helps the senator obtain documents for his hidden wealth charges against the President.

“Pagbukas ng account ko, binigay kay Trillanes, si Abad. Mistress ’yan siya ni Trillanes ’yang Abad na ’yan,” Mr. Duterte said, addressing the media at Malacañang. (When she opened my account, Abad gave it to Trillanes. She is the mistress of Trillanes.)

“So ayaw ko ng patulan ’yan. You cannot use it as evidence in court because ninakaw ninyo ’yan eh, ni Abad. Binigay niya kay Trillanes, binigay ni Trillanes kay Elman, the Ombudsman for Mindanao because I’m a resident there sa Mindanao, then gave it to Morales,” Mr. Duterte further explained, adding the mere fact that the evidence was illegally obtained cannot be used against him in an impeachment trial. (I didn’t want to give it any attention. You cannot use it as evidence in court because you have stolen it. She gave it to Trillanes, then Trillanes gave it to Elman, the Ombudsman for Mindanao, because I’m a resident in Mindanao, then gave it to Morales.)

To prove the documents were all fabricated, Mr. Duterte said, “I myself will bring the account” at a proper time to prove that his wealth has not exceeded P40 million.

Mr. Duterte also claimed the opposition Liberal Party is in cahoots with the Left in plotting his ouster.

“But what is really very clear is ’yung Left pati, ang kaalyado ng Left is, ng mga Bayan is the… mga… ’yung mga Dilaw. Gusto nila ako paalisin dito sa Malacañang,” he said. (But what is really very clear is even the Left, allied with the Left is, with Bayan and such are the…the Yellows. They want me removed from Malacañang.)

Mr. Duterte also renewed his attacks at Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales and Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes P.A. Sereno. — Rosemarie A. Zamora
