THE National Electrification Administration (NEA) has appointed the members of a task force that will act as the new board for an electric cooperative that has been experiencing financial problems, the agency said in a statement yesterday.

NEA passed a resolution on Sept. 26 deactivating the board of Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative, Inc.

The cooperative’s board members are facing administrative cases, according to the statement.

The law allows NEA to appoint third persons to the board of an electric cooperative pending the election of new members, NEA Deputy Administrator Rossan Rosero-Lee said.
