EMINENT BUSINESSMAN Liberato P. Laus was among the three fatalities in a helicopter crash in Bulacan on Thursday, April 25. The Bulacan provincial police identified the two others as Everette Coronel, the pilot, and Wilfran Esteban, a bodyguard of Mr. Laus. The police report said that all the victims were immediately rushed to the Bulacan Medical Center, where Messrs. Laus and Coronel were declared dead on arrival while Mr. Esteban died while medical treatment was being administered. Mr. Laus was the founder and chairperson of the Laus Group of Companies (LGC) and chairman emeritus of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), in a statement, said the helicopter owned and operated by LGC Air Transport, Inc. crash-landed at a fishpond in Barangay Anilao, Malolos, Bulacan at 12:47 p.m. It left the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s General Aviation (GenAv) hangar at 12:28 p.m. and was bound for San Fernando, Pampanga.
