EIGHT commuters were killed while 10 others were injured when a jeepney fell off a cliff in President Roxas town on Sunday. The driver of the jeepney reportedly lost control when its brake system malfunctioned while he was maneuvering through a downhill stretch of highway in Barangay Greenhills in President Roxas. Witnesses said the jeepney first wiggled from left to right before it fell into a 30-foot ravine, rolled over thrice and landed on its side. Supt. Bernard Tayong of the North Cotabato police said the injured commuters were rushed to hospitals by responding barangay officials and personnel of the President Roxas municipal police. — philstar.com
