After a year break, Asia-Pacific Predator League Grand Final returns
FOLLOWING a year break because of the pandemic, the Asia-Pacific Predator League Grand Final returns next month promising another exciting esports offering.
An online-only tournament, the 2020/21 Grand Final will feature four sub-tournaments and is dangling a total prize of $400,000.
The sub-tournaments are broken down to two for DotA 2 and two for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). Teams from different parts of the Asia-Pacific region were pre-assigned to their designated sub-tournaments.
The competition happens from April 6 to 11.
Six teams are representing the Philippines in the tournament, namely, TNC Predator, Neon Esports and Reckoning Esports for DotA 2, and ArkAngel Predator, TroubleMaku and Gamers Lounge for PUBG.
TNC Predator enters the tournament off a decision to keep its roster all-Filipino with the addition of Marvin “Boomy” Rushton and Jun “Bok” Kanehara.
Neon Esports, for its part, is bringing a team consisting of top Filipino gamers John Anthony “Natsumi-“ Vargas, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer, and Rolen Andrei Gabriel “skem” Ong.
Reckoning Esports, meanwhile, is out to make waves in the competition.
Over at PUBG, ArkAngel Esports seeks to build on its great run in the first PUBG Continental Series last year where it finished in the top four.
Winning championship is also in the minds of TroubleMaku and up-and-coming Gamers Lounge.
Organizers of the event said they are very excited for the return of the Asia-Pacific Predator League Grand Final and doing everything they can to successfully stage tournament notwithstanding the challenges still presented by the pandemic.
