INJURED swingman Chris Lutz had yet to see action for his new team, the Meralco Bolts, who gambled on acquiring him despite his condition.
After being idle for more than a year, there’s no guarantee when will the former Marshall University standout will play for the Bolts.
“We will play him when he’s ready to play,” head coach Norman Black told BusinessWorld. “Right now, there’s no guarantee when will he play, but we will be ready with or without him.”
Mr. Lutz had underwent rehab at the Movement Performance Institute in Los Angeles, California, where he joined veteran PBA star Marc Pingris and several NBA players like Blake Griffin, Zach Lavine, Chandler Parsons and Tony Allen, who were all undergoing similar procedure.
But for Mr. Black, they will have to focus at the task at hand as the Bolts try to make another run for the championship. Last year, the Bolts clinched their first ever finals berth in their seven-year history in the PBA, but they lost to the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings in the championship round.
Mr. Black is hoping they could do better and they expect a lot more on the squad, particularly with the returning reigning Best import Allen Durham. — Rey Joble
