Audit agency flags PCSO transactions
NATIONAL auditors have flagged P2 billion of audit suspensions and so-called disallowances that the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has failed to settle.
The charity office last year paid P519.9 million in unauthorized benefits and unnecessary expenses worth P5291.5 million, according to a Commission on Audit report.
The case is pending appeal at the audit agency, according to the report.
PCSO has yet to remit P684.3 million of forfeited prizes from its Keno lottery game to the charity fund. In the report, PCSO said that there were no available funds from unclaimed Keno prizes that had to be transferred. — Vince Angelo C. Ferreras
