ONE out of four, or 25%, of Filipinos know someone summoned for the Duterte administration’s “Oplan Tokhang” drug war, according to the Social Weather Stations’ September poll, which also showed that among those who know someone summoned for the antidrug campaign, 49% said none or not all of them are drug addicts and pushers.

“Personal knowledge of anyone summoned for “Oplan Tokhang” was highest in Metro Manila at 31%, followed by Balance Luzon and Mindanao, both at 25%, and the Visayas at 22%,” the Third Quarter 2017 Social Weather Survey also noted the results in terms of area.

The survey conducted on September 23-27 had face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults nationwide – 600 in Balance Luzon and 300 each in Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao – sampling error margins of ±3% for national percentages, ±4% for Balance Luzon, and ±6% each for the said areas.

Among those with personal knowledge of anyone who had been summoned for “Oplan Tokhang,” 36% said all of those summoned were drug addicts and pushers, and 14% said they don’t know, and 2% said none are drug addicts and pushers.
