A HEFFLEY FAMILY road trip to attend Meemaw’s 90th birthday party goes off course thanks to Greg’s newest scheme to attend a video gaming convention. Directed by David Bowers, it stars Alicia Silverstone, Charlie Wright, and Tom Everett Scott. “None of the virtues of the Diary series came along for the ride,” writes Sam Fragoso of The Wrap.

AFTER FAILING to apprehend the terrorist behind a Paris attack, a CIA agent is forced to live in London as a caseworker before unexpectedly being called back into action by her mentor when the CIA discovers intel of another imminent attack. Directed by Michael Apted, it stars Michael Douglas, Noomi Rapace, and Orlando Bloom. “Apted… brings nothing fresh to the formula besides the minor innovation of dropping an action heroine into a male-dominated field,” writes Stephen Dalton of the Hollywood Reporter.

Colossal
A WOMAN DISCOVERS that severe catastrophic events are somehow connected to her own mental breakdown. Written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, it stars Anne Hathaway, Dan Stevens, and Jason Sudeikis. Very popular with the critics on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, where it got a score of 79%. “It’s a sci-fi/horror/psychodrama/comedy/thriller/revenge/romance film — and that jumble of a description not only works, it does so in spectacular fashion,” writes Peter Howell of the Toronto Star.
