PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. will retain his Cabinet, the Palace said on Monday, debunking rumors and warning fake news peddlers.
Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro, who was also rumored to receive the boot, told fake news peddlers to “watch out for the next chapter.”
“I will always serve at the pleasure of the President; that is the truth,” she told a briefing in mixed English and Filipino.
Mr. Marcos in May last year ordered all his Cabinet secretaries to tender their courtesy resignations following disappointing midterm elections for his bets.
He accepted the resignations of his Environmental chief and the top government lawyer.
The multibillion-peso graft scandal that erupted later in August led to a second round of Cabinet shake-ups, including his executive secretary, public works chief and budget chief. — Chloe Mari A. Hufana
