OVERVIEW
The Philippines stands at a pivotal point in its economic development: balancing strong domestic demand and investment opportunities against inflationary pressures, foreign exchange volatility, and external headwinds.
The country’s young and rapidly growing workforce presents a demographic advantage, but unlocking its full potential requires urgent improvements in productivity, infrastructure, and digital transformation. Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions, evolving trade partnerships, and the rapid pace of technological change demand that Philippine businesses and
policymakers rethink their strategies for long-term competitiveness.
More than ever, the country’s leaders must work together to fortify resilience, drive innovation, and position the country for sustained economic growth in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.

KEYNOTE ADDRESS 2
The Roadmap to a High Growth Economy
9:40 AM – 10:00 AM
In 2024, the Philippine economy posted a growth rate of 5.6%, showing a solid performance despite global economic pressures. The country’s economic output also improved steadily throughout the year through consumer demand, infrastructure spending, and remittances from overseas Filipino workers. While the number indicates progress, it remains below the government’s official target, prompting concern among economists, policymakers, and business groups. The pace is still behind compared to other developing economies like India and Vietnam.
KEYNOTE ADDRESS 3
Redefining the Philippines’ Role in a Changing Global Economy
10:00 AM – 10:20 AM
The Philippines has demonstrated resilience in the face of global economic challenges, ranking as the eighth fastest-growing economy among 46 countries with the fourth-quarter GDP data for 2024. While this figure fell below official targets, the Department of Finance emphasized the country s ability to withstand external and local disruptions, including extreme weather events, geopolitical tensions, and subdued global demand.
