Tropical Depression Chedeng heads for Mindanao this week

TROPICAL DEPRESSION Chedeng entered the Philippine area at 11 a.m. Sunday and is forecasted to continue with its westward track, possibly making landfall over the eastern coast of Davao Oriental between Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Weather bureau PAGASA, in its 5 p.m. update on Sunday, said typhoon signal #1 might be raised over the provinces of Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley by late Sunday. “Scattered to at times widespread moderate to heavy rains will prevail over Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, and Davao del Norte tomorrow (18 March) and in most parts of Mindanao on Tuesday (19 March),” PAGASA warned.
