THE Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, presents leading Polish jazz pianist and composer Artur Dutkiewicz in a solo concert on Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. and a Piano Improvisation Workshop on Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon.
INDEPENDENT BOOKSTORE Kwago and publishing and curatorial platform Comma invited artists Maxine Syjuco, Issay Rodriguez, Nikki Ocean, Erick Calilan, Jem Magbanua, Sasa Cabalquinto, and Ralph Eya for an exhibit and performance called A Curated Shelf: Salamin on Aug. 25, 5 p.m., at Kwago book bar.
VINYL ON VINYL art gallery will be opening multiple exhibits today. These are Family Day by Reen Barrera, elements of the Past by Dennis Bato, Lurking Creatures in Paradise by Demosthenes Campos, and the group exhibit 032 which features the works of Basti Penayes, Carlos Dela Torre, Ed Brian Lazarraga, Lhee Taneo, Soika, Kriss Milan, Mykill, Khriss Bajade, Daot, Lean Reboja, Lean Reboja, GI Pongase, Jan Sunday, John Villoria, Mark Copino, Jess Codeniera, and Wyndelle Remonde. The gallery is at 2241 Pasillo 18, La Fuerza Compound 1, Chino Roces Ave., Makati.
IN THE first solo exhibition of Zaldy Garra, An Intimacy with Disorder, Hiraya Gallery presents a series of portraits showing the artist at his most vulnerable. The artist was born in 1988 in Manila, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions since 2008 and was a four-time semi-finalist in painting at the Metrobank Arts and Design Excellence competitions. The exhibit opens on Aug. 16 and runs until Sept. 30 at the Hiraya Gallery, 530 UN Ave., Ermita, Manila.
AFTER THe success of Love Sings!, the Philippine Opera Company’s Young Artists’ Series (YAS) Season 2018-2019, in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and The Friends of the Philippine Opera Foundation, present the second offering for the season T’AINT OPERA! (Hits from the Weird and Wonderful World of OPERETTA!).
