Pentatonix coming in February

THE Grammy Award-winning a capella group Pentatonix has announced that Manila will be one of the stops on the Pentatonix: The World Tour. The Philippine concert will be on Feb. 8, 2020 at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. Tickets will go on sale starting on Aug. 3.

As suggested by its name, Pentatonix has five members: Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee.

The Austin, Texas-based group specialized in rearranging pop and Christmas songs and has gone on to doing originals, all featuring vocal harmonies, basslines, riffing, percussion, and beatboxing.

The group has won three Grammy Awards, has sold 10 million albums worldwide, and performed for hundreds of thousands of fans at sold out shows across the globe. Their YouTube channel has almost 17 million subscribers, yielding 4 billion video views. The group’s 2015 self-titled album was certified gold after debuting No. 1 on Billboard’s 200.

Nine of the group’s albums reached the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart (two albums reaching No. 1) and received multiple RIAA certifications for multi-platinum, platinum, and gold selling albums and singles.

The group has had three holiday specials on NBC, released a tour documentary, On My Way Home, in 2015, and appeared in the feature film Pitch Perfect 2.
