THIRTY-FIVE modern public utility vehicles (PUVs), like this solar-powered jeepney, have been added to Tacloban City’s transport system with the formal launching on July 11 of the One Time Big Time project. Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Regional Director Gualberto N. Gualberto led the launching of the new PUVs, which will ply routes to the V&G Subdivision and Robinsons Marasbas-Abucay. In 2018, more than 40 solar-powered jeepneys were initially deployed to serve the Palanog route, an area with resettlement sites for victims of typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan). Tacloban City was also among the first areas in the country to have e-tricycles.
