KENNON ROAD, one of the routes in and out of popular mountain destination Baguio City, will be open to two-way traffic on weekends, only for light vehicles with gross weight of up to five tons. The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) office said the opening will be from Friday at 6:00 p.m. to Monday, 6 a.m. “This scheme will run until the Holy Week 2019 or upon the advise of the Task Force Kennon Road or the Office of the Civil Defense,” DPWH-CAR said in its advisory. Kennon Road was totally closed in September last year for rehabilitation work following damage from landslides and typhoons. It was partially opened for residents since December and temporarily in February for Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival and the Philippine Military Academy’s homecoming event.
