The Ruined Table

Font Size

“The Ruined Table” is a phrase borrowed from the late essayist Christopher Hitchens. The phrase refers to the hours spent lingering over the remnants of a good meal, when people—with full bellies and tongues loosed by alcohol—talk, gossip, debate, and confide in conviviality. May your holidays be full of ruined tables.
