TWO PERSONS died and another remains missing in Compostela Valley (ComVal) province as flooding caused by continuous rains hit parts of the Davao Region over the weekend. The ComVal Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported on Sunday that the deaths were due to landslides and overflowing rivers. In the entire region, 4,118 families composed of 19,923 individuals were affected, mainly in Davao City and 12 towns within Davao del Norte and ComVal, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) regional office. In Davao City, preemptive evacuation was undertaken for 2,175 families. As of Sunday morning, 715 families were still in evacuation centers.
