DMCI HOMES has completed the rehabilitation of the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice, located within the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus in Quezon City.
In a statement, DMCI Homes said it worked on the rehabilitation of the UP chapel for six months from July to December 2020. The project was initially supposed to start in early 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic.
DMCI Homes led a team that facilitated the repair of masonry cracks, de-clogging of downspouts and drains, and the installation of new electrical fixtures at the chapel.
The chapel’s dome, roof, walls, columns, among others, were repainted.
However, murals depicting the Stations of the Cross, the marble altar, the floor mural, and the cross were not touched during the rehabilitation.
This year, DMCI Homes said it will restore the chapel’s ceiling or the underside of the dome. This was rescheduled to give way for the church activities during the Christmas season.
The UP Chapel was designed by national artist for architecture Leandro V. Locsin and built by David M. Consunji, founder of the DMCI group of companies.
