As a start, houses were turned over to 50 families in Barangay Iba last Friday by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The National Housing Authority, for its part, announced its own housing project for 100 indigenous peoples in the municipality. “The Department of Agriculture has allotted P8 million for farm-to-market roads in Cabanglasan…. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority… awarded scholarships to rebel surrenderees as part of their reintegration process in the community,” the PCOO said. Other projects relating to water supply and health services were also reported by the Department of Interior Local Government, Philippine Army 403rd Infantry Division, and Philippine National Police. The Department of Labor and Employment, for its part, brought its Integrated Livelihood Program and Emergency Employment Programs “to assist the residents through skills training and entrepreneurship.” — Arjay L.
