THE FILM Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, will have a special screening on Sept. 30 at the 12th Floor SDA Cinema of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB). Hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, the film depicts the story of four government officials as they torture their captives. Based on the book by Marquis de Sade and directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini, this controversially graphic film deals with issues such as abuse of power and political status, sexuality and self-centered debauchery, and the dynamics of sadism. Due to its graphic content, audience caution is advised. There will be a discussion with film critic-turned director Eduardo “Dodo”’ Dayao after the screening, which is free and open to the public. Visitors should bring an ID for access to the DLS-CSB SDA Bldg. For details and inquiries, e-mail mcad@benilde.edu.ph. DLS-CSB is located at 950 Pablo Ocampo St., Malate, Manila.
