Posted on September 27, 2016

ABS-CBN Corp. has teamed up with PLDT, Inc. to offer its video-on-demand service iWant TV to PLDT and Smart Communications subscribers.

ABS-CBN Chairman Eugenio Lopez III and President and CEO Carlo Katigbak inked the agreement with PLDT Chairman, President and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan, which would allow PLDT and Smart to offer promo packages that include iWant TV subscriptions starting November 2016.

“The strategic partnership between ABS-CBN and PLDT underscores our vision to make our content available online to more Filipinos,” said Mr. Katigbak in a statement.

Launched in 2007, iWant TV offers an extensive library of ABS-CBN programs, local and foreign movies and original content.

The partnership would boost ABS-CBN’s consumer reach as PLDT has more than 64 million cellular subscribers as of the first half of the year, according to its second-quarter financial report.
