Posted on February 28, 2014

DAIKIN AIRCONDITIONING Philippines, Inc. has set a profit target of P1.5 billion for its fiscal year ending March next year, a senior company official said yesterday.

The profit target is 67% higher than the expected income for the fiscal year of 2013 which, according to Daikin Philippines’ Sales and Operations Division Manager Jed O. Caburian, will likely hit P900 million.

“For 2014, we expect to grow our profit to P1.5 billion on the back of a more aggressive dealership,” Mr. Caburian told reporters on the sidelines of a product launch held yesterday in Makati City.

Daikin wants to grow it current market share of 30% by boosting its dealership network that counts 150 dealers nationwide.

“We expect that (number of dealers) to increase to 200 this year,” he said.

The company also plans to open a service satellite office in Davao to improve customer service.

Daikin Philippines launched yesterday its latest product that uses the Variable Refrigerant Flow IV System, and which it said it will begin selling in August.

“We are targeting to sell a minimum of around a thousand units by the end of the fiscal year,” Mr. Caburian said. -- Lorenz Christoffer S. Marasigan
