A MULTI-DISCIPLINE GYM dedicated to strength, fitness and performance enhancement, Alpha Strength recently opened its doors to help people be an “alpha,” or better versions of themselves.

Located at the ground floor of SPARTA Philippines in Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City, Alpha Strength is a new fitness facility which believes “that when a person is strong, everything becomes easy.”

“We really value strength in this one with our workouts. We focus on making you stronger and the way we do it is in cycles. We are goal-oriented and we have specific strength classes,” said Aaron Dela Cruz, head coach at Alpha Strength and Alpha Strike, in an interview during the facility’s formal launch.

“Our programs are progressive. We engage our members so there will be accountability on their part and you just have to trust the process and goals will be achieved,” said Mr. Dela Cruz, also known as “Coach A” among gym members.




They employ various physical activities in their programs like calisthenics, gymnastics and powerlifting, among others.

The facility offers three programs, namely, Be Alpha, Alpha 365, and Alpha Mode, each of which has its own programmed goals and specially designed workouts.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL
Be Alpha is given to beginners and is designed to fix one’s movement patterns, and build physical and mental strength along the way.

It begins with an assessment of a member’s current health and capacity, identifying limitations in movement, and progressing to increasing the intensity of workouts.

Alpha 365, meanwhile, takes things to a higher level as it aims to optimize strength, agility, coordination, speed, power, and endurance.

The program is for fitness enthusiasts trying to get the best performance out of their bodies. Proponents hail Alpha 365 as a holistic approach to fitness. It highlights the need for the human body to adapt to stress to get better in any aspect of movement, sport, and even life.

The Alpha 365 program utilizes multi-joint compound movements and powerlifting exercises to aid people in maintaining their fitness as well as becoming competent in any field of sport.

And, lastly, Alpha Mode is a by-appointment class for those looking to improve for competition and become the best athlete that they can be.

Rates for the Be Alpha program are P475 for walk-ins, P2,400 for six sessions, and P3,000 for eight sessions. One month is P3,500 while for those who want to do it for three months, six months, and 12 months, the monthly rate is reduced to P3,250, P3,000 and P2,750, respectively.

Note, however, that two months worth of fees is required for the first months of the contract for the multi-month membership.

For Alpha 365, eight sessions go for P3,200 and 10 sessions are P3,750. One month is P4,550, while for those who want to do it for three months, six months, and 12 months, the monthly rate is slashed to P4,200, P3,850, and P3,500 in that order.

“Becoming stronger is not easy; it will test you, it will disappoint, and, just like life, it is not a walk in the park. That’s why getting strong is worth it, and that’s what we are; we make people stronger,” said Mr. Dela Cruz in further highlighting what Alpha Strength and what they do are all about.

“In Alpha Strength, we will help one achieve his or her fitness goals, to be the best and strongest versions of themselves,” he added.
