THIS year’s Earth Hour — when people, businesses and governments around the world simultaneously switch off their lights for 60 minutes to highlight environmental protection — starts at 8:30 p.m. on March 30 for the Philippines. The focus for 2019 is plastic waste and the local campaign uses the hashtag #AyokoNgPlastik. One of the activities for the Earth Hour observance is the Eco Market at the Circuit Event Grounds in Makati City, where products for a more sustainable lifestyle will be showcased. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own reusable items.
