THE CULTURAL Center of the Philippines (CCP) Film, Broadcast and New Media Division is now accepting entries for the Ika-33 Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video, a contest which focuses on independent films and videos which are not meant for commercial showing.

The finalists will be screened at the 2021 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, of which Gawad Alternatibo is a part of.

Deadline of submissions is on or before April 19.

The festival is open to all Filipino filmmakers (based in the Philippines and abroad). Entries must be strictly independent works and not produced for commercial screening. School-based works including theses are eligible. The entries must have been completed not earlier than March 14, 2020, and must not exceed 45 minutes running time. Interested participants may submit a maximum of three entries in each category, but an entry can only be submitted in one category. Categories include Short Feature/Narrative, Experimental, Documentary, and Animation.

Prizes for winning entries in the different categories range from P25,000 for first prize to P5,000 for an honorable mention. There are also special citations for Best Regional Entry and Best Entry For/On/By Children.
