Finale Art File opened three exhibitions which are on view until Jan. 5, 2017: Painting Baggage by Lyra Garcellano and W. Don Flores, Swan Song Part Two by Liv Vinluan, and Tropical Snow Flake by Jeona Zoleta.
Simbuyo, an exhibit of ceramic sculptures by Rita Cudiño, is on view until Dec. 27 at the Hiraya Gallery, 530 United Nations Ave., Ermita, Manila.
A Stone’s Throw, The Syjucos at Galerie Roberto, featuring works of Cesare A.X, Jean Marie, Michelline, Beatrix, Maxine, and Julian, runs until Dec. 18. Galerie Roberto is located at the Molito Complex, Madrigal Avenue cor. Commerce Ave., Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Ateneo Art Gallery presents #LUZ@90, curated by Ambeth R. Ocampo, which runs until April 8. Featuring recent and early works, the exhibition celebrates the 90th birth anniversary of Arturo R. Luz, National Artist for Visual Arts.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines celebrates the birth month of National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco via the exhibit Homebound: A Survey of Recent Developments in Angono Contemporary Art, on view until Feb. 12.
The Metropolitan Museum of Manila presents three exhibits, collectively called FORTY, in celebration of its 40th anniversary. The MET Collection and New Acquisitions and The MET Archives are on view until Jan. 8, while The MET and the BSP Print Collections runs until Jan. 13. Along with the three exhibits, The MET is displaying Ronald Ventura’s iconic two-piece carousel at the museum lobby. Tie a String Around the World, a re-staging of the Philippines’ official exhibition to the Venice Art Bienalle in 2015, is on view at the UP Vargas Museum’s 1F and 3F Galleries. The show features works by Manuel Conde, Carlos “Botong” Francisco, Manny Montelibano, and Jose Tence Ruiz.

The re-run of Tanghalang Pilipino’s production of Nicanor Tiongson’s Mabining Mandirigma: a steampunk musical is ongoing until Dec. 18, with performances from Friday to Sunday, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., at the Little Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City. This is a contemporary musical foregrounding the intellectual heroism of Apolinario Mabini, who in the second phase of Philippine revolution, displayed an uncommon vision, a warrior’s spirit, and a principled character, as he struggled against all odds to enjoin his countrymen to go beyond considerations of class, clan, economic gain, and personal ambition, so they could think and act as citizens of one nation. UST’s Paskuhan 2016 kicks off on Dec. 15, 5:30 p.m., with a mass at the university’s Quadricentennial Pavilion. The Paskuhan concert features popular bands on Dec. 16, 6 p.m., at the UST Grandstand and will be capped by a fireworks display at 9 p.m.
NORDLYS/P-NOiSE Contemporary Dance will be held at the Metropolitan Theater at Plaza Lawton, Manila and at Pineapple Lab at 6071 Palma Street, Makati City, from Dec. 15 to 18, 7 p.m. NORDLYS (Northern Light) is a collective of artists from Denmark, Sweden Norway, and Finland. They will stage their walking performances where the audience moves with them and within the venue in an exploration of bodily, emotional and spatial relationships. NORDLYS/P-NOiSE Contemporary Dance brings together the Nordic and Filipino artists in a showcase of contemporary dance and performance art in the urban landscape of Manila. Opening night on Dec. 15 will be at Pineapple Lab (tickets: P300) and will feature art performances, debate, and a film screening. There will also be a live vocal and DJ performance. A “Walking Performance” will then be held at the Metropolitan Theater on Dec. 16 and 17 by NORDLYS. Closing night on the 18th is at Pineapple Lab (tickets: P300) and will feature art performances and debate, a performance piece and film. There will be live music. Basil Valdez will be performing in a concert at San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila on Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. Guests are the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth, the Adeodatus Children’s Choir, and Shanne Dandan from the Voice Kids.
