A GOVERNMENT employee who was kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in February was freed Monday morning in Patikul, Sulu, days after two abducted police officers were also released by the criminal group. The military yesterday said Enrico Nee, a Department of Public Works and Highways district engineer, is already in the custody of Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu and will undergo medical examination and debriefing. Brigadier General Cirilito E. Sobejana said nine hostages remain with the ASG — one Dutch, one Vietnamese, three Indonesians, and four Filipinos — and he expressed optimism that all the captives will also be released. — Minde Nyl R. dela Cruz
