SENATORS WILL not be taking a break on Nov. 13-15 — declared by Malacañang as non-working days in Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Bulacan as the country hosts the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit — to tackle transport and security-related legislation. Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III confirmed this through a mobile app message, saying: “We agreed that we have to hold sessions during those days. We have to solve the transport issues and security concerns during those days.” Meanwhile, Senator Francis Joseph G. Escudero told reporters yesterday that Mr. Pimentel’s office has already issued an advice that there will be regular Senate sessions on those days. “May pasok ang Senado (There will be work at the Senate),” Mr. Escudero said. — Arjay L.
