What’s happening to the Celtics? I know I’ve asked this question several times over the last couple of months, but I simply can’t stop shaking my head and wondering why the heck stalwarts of the National Basketball Association’s most venerable franchise -- sorry, Lakers -- seem to be swooning, and fast. Granted, their Big Three’s not getting younger, and their championship window appears to have closed in light of acknowledged leader Kevin Garnett’s inability to completely recover from a knee injury he suffered early last year. Still, it’s one thing to be competitive, and quite another to merely be wading in relative mediocrity.
