THE Porsche Center Philippines showroom on EDSA is hosting a festival celebrating Porsche’s 70th anniversary.
Highlights of the celebration include a display of the brand’s current models in the country, which can not only be viewed by guests but also taken for test-drives.
But taking the center stage among the models is the new Macan Sport, a compact SUV which, according to Porsche, keeps to its philosophy in which “sporty style and performance are injected into everyday driving.”
Porsche said the Macan Sport has been fitted with a new self-leveling adaptive air suspension suitable for use over all road conditions; 20-inch RS Spyder alloy wheels; the Porsche Stability Management system; and a multi-function steering wheel taken from the brand’s 918 Spyder sports car.
A turbocharged, 252-hp 2.0-liter engine mated to a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission propels the Macan’s 1,770-kilogram body. The output lets the SUV reach 100 kph from a standstill in only 6.7 seconds, and a top speed of 229 kph. Fuel consumption can go as low as 13.9 kilometers per liter, Porsche said.
