Tuned cars, trucks to star in after-market show

TWO shows dedicated to the country’s automotive after-market industry are set to hold their 2107 staging on Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at a convention center in Pasay City.

The 11th Manila Auto Salon and the 23rd Sport Truck Show, according to organizer Tradeshow International, Inc. (TSI), will feature 200 customized performance cars and SUVs, as well as a retail section for products and services. Both shows will occupy all the trade halls of the convention center, or 9,000 square meters of floor space.

“The Manila Auto Salon and Sport Truck Show remain to be strong influencers to the new breed of automotive consumers who are more empowered because of social media and technology. These shows serve as an interactive platform for these browsers who take to the Internet first to research for what’s in the market but still need to be surprised with what is not available online,” said Sophie delos Santos, TSI president.


‘VWorld Weekend’ set on Dec. 2-3

THE third edition of the “VWorld Weekend” is scheduled on Dec. 2-3 at a shopping mall located at 38th Street corner 9th Avenue in Taguig City.

Show organizer Volkswagen Philippines said the VWorld Weekend will feature the Volkswagen Jetta sedan in Comfortline and Highline variants, the Polo Hatchback, the Golf GTI with ABT kit, and the New Caddy MPV.

The company noted the New Caddy, which seats seven passengers, is available in Comfortline and Sportline variants. Both are equipped with a 1.6-liter TDI diesel engine that’s mated to a six-speed DSG transmission. VW said the New Caddy is the “ideal MPV for families” because of its generous cargo space and host of safety features.

Other attractions during the event are the display of pre-owned Volkswagen vehicles that will be sold at special prices, and test-drive opportunities for new models. Visitors who test-drive and who place reservations will be given special Volkswagen gift items, Volkswagen Philippines said.

Mitsubishi launches promo for Mirage models

MITSUBISHI Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) announced it is giving some of its customers an early Christmas treat with the recent launch of the Mitsubishi Mirage and Mirage G4 Year-End Raffle Promo.

MMPC explained P10,000 worth in gift certificates from Digital Walker will be raffled off to customers of brand-new Mirage or Mirage G4 models. Purchases covered by the promo are those made between Oct. 7 and Dec. 29 from authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealerships in the Philippines. Three raffle draws, dedicated to purchases made each month, will see 1,500 customers winning the gift certificates.

MMPC said Digital Walker is “the country’s largest retailer of premium gadgets and accessories.”
